Foals at Langhús

![]() ©-LUKKA We don’t get many foals each year. We don’t want to be in any mass production, it’s better to have fewer foals, and have quality foals. Harpa from Neðri-Hrepp had a splash white chestnut pinto mare foal, Óskadís from Langhúsum, after Hróður from Refsstöðum (which is evaluated with 8.39). Hróður got 1. prize for offspring at Landsmót this summer, and certainly deserves it. Óskadís means goddess of wishes… she was a wish come true : ) Harpa was then bred to Gammur from Steinnesi (evaluated with 8.03 as a 5 year old). Óskadís gallery. Glaðning from Stangarholti had a splash white chestnut pinto colt foal, Fíton from Langhúsum, after Hróður from Refsstöðum. Fíton will be raised as a stallion. Glaðning was then bred to Kjarni from Auðsholtshjáleigu (evaluated with 8,34 as a 5 year old). Fíton gallery. Dúkka from Sauðárkróki had a black colt foal, Knörr from Langhúsum, after Aðall from Nýjabæ (evaluated with 8.64). Dúkka was then bred to IS1998187146 – Gjafar frá Eyrarbakka (evaluated with 8,19), a strawberry roan (red roan) 4-gaited stallion. Birta from Steinnesi had a palomino colt foal, Gullfoss from Langhúsum, after Hnokki from Þúfum (evaluated with 8.39). She was then bred to Sólon from Skáney (evaluated with 8.48). Gullfoss gallery. Yrpa from Enni had a bay mare foal after Gammur from Steinnesi (evaluated with 8,03). Drífa from Keldulandi was bred to Gammur from Steinnesi. . The foals and breedings of 2007, at Langhús! 5 foals were born on our farm (mothers are Harpa, Dúkka, Yrpa, Birta and Sól). —————————— IS1995236519 – Glaðning frá Stangarholti, high 2. prize, was bred this summer to IS1995135993 – Hróður frá Refsstöðum, a world famous breeding stallion (for his offspring), 1. prize with 8,39 in main score, 8,69 for talents, and 123 in Blup. Glaðning and Árvakur, born 2006. —————————— She was bred this summer to IS2003158162 – Hnokki frá Þúfum, a 5 year old 1. prize stallion with 8,04 in main score. —————————— One of our broodmares, IS1995235617 – Harpa frá Neðri-Hrepp, 2. prize, had in May a chestnut mare, after IS2002158466 – Háttur frá Þúfum, 1. prize stallion, with 8,15 in main score as a 5 year old. The name of the mare is Veröld from Langhúsum. It was still almost winter when the foal was born. But the frisky little mare, and her mum, hit the front page of Bændablaðið (the farmer’s paper) with this picture, for their spring stamina and beauty: Harpa was bred this summer to IS1995135993 – Hróður frá Refsstöðum, a world famous breeding stallion (for his offspring), 1. prize with 8,39 in main score, 8,69 for talents, and 123 in Blup. —————————— One of our broodmares, Dúkka from Sauðárkróki, 2. prize, had in July a black colt after IS2001158280 – Baugur frá Víðinesi 2, 1. prize stallion, with 8,48 in main score, 8,58 for riding abilities. The name of the colt is Mjölnir from Langhúsum. She was bred this summer to IS1999135519 – Aðall frá Nýjabæ, a 1. prize stallion with 8.64 in main score, 8,97 for talents. —————————— One of our broodmares, Yrpa from Enni, had a black colt after Heimir from Vatnsleysu, that has an evaluation of 7.99. She was bred this summer to IS1996156290 – Gammur frá Steinnesi, a 1. prize stallion with 8,03 in main score. —————————— One of our broodmares, IS2000286762 – Sól frá Skarði, had in May a silver dapple colt after Glampi from Langárfossi. The name of the colt is Faldur from Langhúsum. She will be bred again in 2008. The foals and breedings of 2006, at Langhús! 6 foals were born on our farm (mothers are Harpa, Dúkka, Glaðning, Birta, Eva and Dögg).

The foal is a black pinto mare foal. Her name is Æska from Langhúsum. Von from Keldulandi, in ice tolt. The 1. prize mare (8.35 for talents), IS1994258920 – Von frá Keldulandi, had a mare foal from Langhús the summer 2005. Father of the foal is IS1994184553 – Sveinn-Hervar frá Þúfu, 1. prize stallion, with 8,38 for talents, there of 9 for tolt and trot. —————————— Eva from Langhúsum, one of our broodmares, 2. prize, had a colt this summer, 2006, sired by IS2001187053 – Gaumur frá Auðsholtshjáleigu, 1. prize stallion with 8,47 in main score, there of 8,74 for talents. —————————— Glaðning from Stangarholti, which we board for Ellen Hansen, had a colt this summer, 2006, sired by IS2001187053 – Gaumur frá Auðsholtshjáleigu, 1. prize stallion with 8,47 in main score, there of 8,74 for talents. The name of the colt is Árvakur from Hoftúni. He is an uncastrated stallion prospect. FOALS OF 2000
