About Langhus in short

Langhús is a horse farm where horses are bred, trained, raised and traded. We have around 35 horses at all ages. Our barn houses 15 horses, some of them ours, some of them that come for training. All our broodmares are trained, most of them are shown and evaluated, and we only use 1st prize stallions as sires. Thus, all the horses we breed are found in the Icelandic studbook and Fengur database. Our horses have the A-breeders certification, that is to say, the mares get full papers for the foals from the stallion caretakers after ultrasound, our foals are marked with microchips, and we are thorough about papers and caretaking. We also run an over-average sized dairy-farm, with around 40 cows (and a big progress in milk yield and other breeding factors within the last few years), have 15 sheep, two prize winning Icelandic sheep dogs (one of them an Icelandic champion) and more animals.

We at Langhus are very enthusiastic about breeding, no matter what species of animals we are talking about. We want to have as good animals as possible. The main language in Iceland is Icelandic, but we speak english and danish and understand other scandinavian languages. We have sold many horses abroad, to 15 different countries, without complications.

I have for 12 years run  a thorough service of all kinds for my customers. Are you looking for the horse of your dreams?  We simply ask, HOW CAN WE BE OF SERVICE FOR YOU? Click here for more information.

Import of animals is mostly forbidden in Iceland, so we have only one breed of horse, one breed of dairy-cows and one breed of sheep in Iceland (which means that every individual in those breeds is purebred in Iceland).
Welcome!
