The breeding goals for the individual characters of the Icelandic horse
as set by Fagráð í hrossarækt (The Icelandic Horse Breeding Committee).
CONFIRMATION
- Head (höfuð)
- Neck and shoulders/withers (háls og herðar)
- Back and croup/loin (bak og lend)
- Proportions (samræmi)
- Legs (fótagerð)
- Correctness (straightness) of legs (réttleiki)
- Hooves (hófar)
- Mane and tail (prúðleiki)
RIDING QUALITIES
- Tolt (Tölt)
- Trot(Brokk)
- Pace (Skeið)
- Canter/gallop (Stökk)
- Walk
- Willingness/goeyness/temperament (vilji/geðslag).
