Description:

In this tour we combine experiences from several of our most popular tours. Then we’ll usually ride in a circle.  The exact route can though change depending on the seasons and circumstances in nature, but there is one thing certain, this tour is always very variated with all sorts of fantastic landscape and terrain. We go through moors on a country side road with very little traffic, down to an old little former village by the beach.  We ride on the coast, or directly on a black sand beach (our country is made from lava so the sand in the beach is black) on a beautiful reef between the Arctic ocean and a fresh water lake bordering our farm.  We go up the beautiful and striking Flokadalur valley, we go past some farms on a quiet country road, seeing up to the highlands and over looking a peaceful lake, and cross the deep Flokadalsa river (which is a thrill).  We ride on hills with beautiful views, and the adventurous even take a gallop (just for experienced riders).  We do cool off road riding, where you really experience how sure footed these horses are, and how good they feel in the very uneven terrain our nature can offer.  We stop for a picnic break and good chatting (where we can tell you about Iceland, history, farming, countryside, or whatever your heart desires, if you’re interested) where everybody can stretch their legs.  We provide snacks that are f.ex. pastries and breads, can variate a bit, but always some traditional Icelandic delicacies, and usually they are homemade.  We both go a lot in slow speed (walk) and in medium speed (tolt or trot) in this tour, with the option of going fast if you like (gallop, but just for experienced riders).  So it’s fun for both sporty 1. time beginners, and experienced riders 🙂

Regarding the picnic, if we know it well beforehand we can usually adjust to diet preferences when making the picnic, and have f.ex. choices that are glutein free, vegetarian, vegan, considering an allergy or other needs.

As we have to take care not to disturb the abundant bird life in that area, the availability of including the beach in this trip is a bit seasonal, it´s offered all year round except May and most of June.   Sometimes in the winter parts of the trail can be closed for other reasons.  On the other hand, when the usual All sorts tour isn’t possible, we’ve made another kind of mix of some of our popular tours, for a 3.5-4 hour experience, so feel free to contact us for more information about our availability of some kind of version of the All sorts tour, at any time of the year.

The trails themselves are easy (but of course it takes time), the tour is fun for both beginners and experienced riders.

Meeting point:

Langhus farm is on Google maps.

Add-on option:  The geothermal mineral bath:

On top of this it is super popular by groups of 10 people or less, to add on going to our indoor geothermal mineral bath (where you also can take a shower) for relaxation and fun, for maybe an hour.  You get that as a very cheap add-on option for 2200 ISK per person. More info here.

Add-on option:  Icelandic traditional waffle lunch with a variety of drinks:

On top of this it is super popular to add on getting Icelandic traditional heart-shaped waffles with a choice of toppings, as many per person as you like.  Toppings are either homemade blueberry jam, or the traditional Icelandic way (with homemade rhubarb jam), also whipped cream (if you like), or simply Nutella chocolate spread, pancake syrup or maple sirup. Also with hot chocolate, good real coffee, a choice of teas, or carbonated fizzy water if you like.  You get that as a very cheap add-on lunch option to the other options for 2800 ISK per person.  We can make gluten free waffles if booked beforehand.
